    ✈️ 3 Tips for Beginner Drone Pilots [𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫!] 📌 ᴘʀᴀᴄᴛɪᴄᴇ ɪɴ ᴀɴ ᴇᴍᴘᴛʏ ᴘᴀʀᴋɪɴɢ ʟᴏᴛ ᴏʀ ꜰɪᴇʟᴅ. Someone asked me today if they should practice inside first. No! it's easiest to learn to fly in a large empty parking lot or flat field (think football field). It means that you can see where the drone is and learn the controls while also being able to land virtually anywhere in the area 📌 ᴘʟᴜɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴏʟʟᴇʀ ɪɴᴛᴏ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ᴘʟᴀʏ ᴀʀᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀᴘᴘ ɪɴꜱɪᴅᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴘʀᴇꜱꜱᴜʀᴇ ᴏꜰ ꜰʟʏɪɴɢ. Take time to adjust your settings (are you shooting in raw for photos and 4k for video?) and learn where the manual settings are. It’s a lot less stressful to do this inside on your couch instead of while the drone is in the air. 📌 ᴛʀᴀɴꜱꜰᴇʀ ʏᴏᴜʀ ꜰɪʟᴇꜱ ᴅᴀɪʟʏ. This is good practice for all drone pilots, photographers, and videographers but especially with drones, because the risk of losing them is higher, you want to make sure that your files are backed up to your computer and that your SD card is cleared with plenty of storage.     😱 Same Spot, Different Lens 📸 All three ph 😱 Same Spot, Different Lens 📸 All three photos are from Hamilton Falls, a gorgeous waterfall in Vermont. The first two photos are taken from the same spot, the only difference is the lens. 🍃 Wide Angle Lens: The first photo of the falls (Oregon vibes anyone?) is taken with a wide angle lens. By using a wide lens, I was able to capture the waterfall, the foreground, myself, and the gorgeous fall trees. 💧Zoom Lens: In the second photo I swapped the wide angle lens for a zoom lens. When you use a zoom lens, the background is compressed which makes it look that much larger and more majestic. To truly show just how impressive something is, you need a reference.     🍁 5 Scenic Fall Routes in Vermont 🍃 [Save th 🍁 5 Scenic Fall Routes in Vermont 🍃 [Save this for later] If you’re hitting the road this October and are headed to Vermont, I’ve got a few scenic routes that you need to take to see some incredible fall foliage. 🍂 Route 155 between Rutland and Jamaica, VT (featured) 🍁 Mad River Scenic Byway which passes through gorgeous picturesque towns and by famous ski spots 💧 Lake Champlain Byway is a great route to add to your New England road trip 🍃 The Crossroad of Vermont passes through central Vermont and into New Hampshire with chances to stop at different museums. 🍂 Molly Stark Scenic Byway is the perfect way to see southern Vermont quickly.     Welcome to Buttermilk Falls! Would you ever guess Welcome to Buttermilk Falls! Would you ever guess that this is in Vermont? 🤯 I discovered this gorgeous spot with three waterfalls and wild swimming spots (more photos coming soon!) earlier this week and knew that I had to come back with the drone. Let me tell you that the behind the scenes was not quite as glamorous 😂 I flew the drone up (this was my second solo flight - normally Jack flies the drone!), adjusted the settings, and positioned it where I wanted it before handing it off to my mom with instructions on which button to press to take a photo. I then hopped in the freezing water (this will be the last wild swim of the season!) swam out, posed, and swam back to check the photos and swim in a few more times before getting out, drying off, and landing the drone. 🥶 I think it was totally worth it!     7 Gorgeous Viewpoints in Edinburgh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (Save this for later!) 📌 Dean Village x Water of Leith (Photo 1): Dean Village is already at the top of many people's lists, but there's an especially gorgeous point where you can walk down next to the water and enjoy the vibrant buildings. 📌 Calton Hill (Photo 2 and 3) is one of the best places in Edinburgh to see amazing views of the city. The hill has different structures that make for intriguing photos and you can get great views of the city and Arthur's Seat. 📌 Circus Lane (Photo 4): Okay, I know it's basic, but Edinburgh's Circus Lane is stunning, especially in spring when everything is in bloom! 📌 Victoria Street (Photo 5) in winter, especially with a layer of snow, and the gorgeous holiday lights is so beautiful. Be sure to head up to the view above via the staircase or Royal Mile to see it from above. 📌 Dean Village Bridge: There's a reason you see this on every Instagram guide to Edinburgh and it's because it is a pretty darn good view! 📌 The Vennel: Easily one of Edinburgh's best views of Edinburgh Castle and with plenty of options for beer at the bottom of the steps! 📌 Camera Obscura Rooftop: For a fantastic view of the city from above, head to Camera Obscura's rooftop at sunset to catch golden hour.
